經典科幻電影《駭客任務》系列，睽違18年推出新續作《駭客任務：復活》，原班人馬基努李維與凱莉安摩絲回歸主演，重新飾演各自的經典角色。《駭客任務》系列由拉娜與莉莉華卓斯基姊妹還未變性前，以兄弟身分聯合執導，《駭客任務：復活》由姊姊拉娜獨挑大樑執導演筒。編劇除了拉娜華卓斯基、《雲圖：穿越過去未來》、 Netflix影集《超感八人組》的大衛米契爾和亞歷山大赫蒙參與編劇。
《駭客任務：復活》重回有兩個現實的世界，壹個是日常生活，另壹個則是存在於日常的背後。湯瑪斯安德森想要找出他的現實是真實的，還是想像出來的，同時真正了解自己，所以他必須再次選擇「跟著白兔走」。儘管壹切都像是幻覺，但如果湯瑪斯（或是尼歐）曾經學到什麼，那就是唯有透過選擇才能進出母體，尋找背後的真相。雖然尼歐早就知道他會做出何種選擇，但他不知道的是，母體變得比以前更強大、更堅固、更危險……似曾相識。
