本片翻拍自2003 年比利時電影《殺手的記憶》，壹名僱傭殺手在拒絕為壹個危險的犯罪組織完成工作後發現自己成為了目標。

艾力克斯(連恩尼遜 飾)是個職業殺手，在拒絕執行任務後被捲入壹場犯罪陰謀。為了保命，他必須在被FBI探員文森(蓋皮爾斯 飾)抓到前殺死他的雇主。追擊途中，艾力克斯發現自己的記憶力衰退，並開始質疑自己的每個所作所為。究竟他是遭人設局利用，還是被自己的記憶玩弄？他還能相信他自己嗎？
